2016 was a year of makeup hauls for me. There's so much makeup that I finally said to myself, I have to start posting it to my blog before they add up even more and lose the opportunity and time to do so. This 2017, I swear, is the year for more beauty and makeup reviews, so please bear with me! First off, is sharing my lipstick collection. I previously posted a couple of reviews and swatches of some from my collection and you may check it all in this link. Anyway, since the Beauty and the Beast live-action reboot premiere is just right around the corner and there's still no confirmed collaboration with Canadian makeup brand MAC Cosmetics, here is a piece from MAC Cosmetics x Disney's Cinderella collection instead.
Two years ago, MAC Cosmetics launched a makeup collection in collaboration with Disney for Cinderella. This is, of course, launched simultaneously with the live-action movie reboot which was shown in theaters last 2015.

The collection is huge for a limited edition release, but not huge enough to cater to all Cinderella fans ready to throw in their money just to have a piece. In fact, when it was launched here in Manila, everything sold out just minutes right after they opened. I was fortunate enough to have my hands on one lipstick which is Royal Ball.
By the way, I have these limited edition MAC Cosmetics lipsticks for quite some time now but I haven't even used it. At all. So what better way to christen them than to do swatches! Stay tuned on this blog, I will be posting them all here soon. :)

So I kinda sorta prepared for this review by baking my concealer some more, retouching my brows (as I did this review after I got home from work), contouring and adding a neutral eye shadow. Of course, I did not want to come looking unprepared for this review!

The final look.
I opted for a no-makeup makeup look because I want to. LOLJK, I just really like to keep it simple and natural looking.

Royal Ball is a nice light peachy color with a Lustre finish. I'm not really into that finish but I bought it anyway because it's a limited edition AND from Disney's Cinderella collection. Also, I figured I can use it as a finishing coat for a lipstick with a Matte finish.

Since Royal Ball has a Lustre finish, as expected, it is close to my skin complexion when swatched on my hand. It's as if it is a concealer with an added creaminess and shimmer.
The video below shows how my lips look like without any lip product.
And by the way, I suggest you use a lip primer first before applying lipstick. This is to moisturize your lips, prolong the lipstick on those puckers and of course, for a better pop of color.

However, when applied, it looked quite okay. Although I must say, it's clearly lacking a pop of color. But like what I said, I initially bought it as a finishing coat for my lipsticks with a matte finish.
I think I could have pulled it off more if I opted for a heavy eye makeup, specifically a smokey eye makeup instead.

Ever since news broke about the live-action reboot of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, I was seriously expecting for a special limited edition collection with MAC Cosmetics. Unfortunately, it was reported that L'Oreal will have a Beauty and the Beast collection BUT available only through Amazon Italy. Here's to hoping the MAC Cosmetics X Beauty and the Beast collection will still happen, yeah? :)
